Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve loved making my own fishing lures.

There was something special about taking an idea, shaping it with my own hands and then watching it come to life in the water. But nothing compared to actually catching a fish on something I had made myself. That feeling never left me.

I’m Conraad van Vuuren, and in 2020, Francois Myburgh and I founded Life Like Lures™, turning our shared passion for fishing into something we could share with other anglers.

From the beginning, our goal was simple: to create lures that we would genuinely want in our own tackle boxes. Lures designed to imitate real prey through their profile, movement and action in the water. That means constantly experimenting, testing and refining — often where it matters most: out on the water.

For Francois and me, fishing has always been about more than the catch. It’s about the early mornings, the adventure, the friendships, the anticipation behind every cast and those unforgettable moments when a fish finally commits.

We are also passionate advocates of catch-and-release fishing. There’s something incredibly rewarding about landing a magnificent fish, capturing the memory and then watching it swim away again.

What started with a young boy making his own lures eventually became a shared dream between two friends.

Today, that same passion lives on in every Life Like Lure we create.
